Party

Dylan was very excited to be at the McKenna Children's Museum
for her cousin Mason's 2nd birthday party.

Mason in a Bag

Mason was opening his presents on top of the
counter. The bag that we gave him his
presents in was so big that he actually
climbed in - it was very cute!

Upside-down

Upside-down Dylan - well, the camera anyway!

Water wheels, etc...

This was very neat, and almost all of the kids in the whole
museum could usually be found here. What kid does not
want to get soaking wet? It was this long and winding
trough with a bunch of different interactive features
for kids of all ages - wheels and fountains and of course
- rubber duckies!

Kitchen fun

Dylan had so much fun in this little kitchen.
It was in the "country/ranch" part of the
museum. She was so happy to do the dishes
and cook... let's hope that holds for at least
another 10 years or so!

Cowgirl

Ride 'em little cowgirl, then ride the other one... that was a
fake chicken coop behind her. This was obviously in the
"country" are of the museum.

Shadow Room

This was a very cool feature at the museum. It was called the "Shadow Room." There were two features - one was butterflies flying and the other was falling rocks. You would stand in front of the wall and the projector behind you would place your shadow on the wall. A camera would film your shadow and a computer program would cause the rocks to pile on your arms, or run off your shoulder or whatever. The butterflies would land on your head, hands, arms - whatever "surface" there was available created by your shadow. Dylan wsan't really very interested, but Jason and I played with it for quite a while. It was pretty cool!

My little researcher

Dylan was so serious about this
microscope. She played with the
slides for about 30 to 45 minutes
without letting anyone else take
a turn. She was verrrry focused -
of course it was past nap-time, so
that might have had something
to do with it!

Jake and Mason hard at work -
just a hint to anyone, if Jake or
Mason try to hand you a bottle
for your baby - you might want
to find out what's really in it!
